Centurion Mk 1 - A41, 17pdr (76.2 mm) gun. Six vehicles were sent to 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, 22nd Armoured Brigade at Gribbohm, in Germany, May 1945.
Centurion Mk 2 - A41A, Up-armoured hull, fully cast turret, new commander's cupola, co-axial Besa machine gun, gunner's sighting periscope replacing sighting telescope, main gun armament stabilised in azimuth and elevation.
Centurion Mk 3 - 20pdr (84 mm) gun, slightly shorter hull, 2 stowage positions for track links on glacis. Fitted with a two-inch (51 mm) mortar, loaded and fired from within the turret.
Centurion Mk 5 - 20pdr (84 mm) gun, Browning machine guns fitted to coaxial and commander's cupola mounts, turret rear escape door deleted, turret roof reshaped, extra stowage bin on glacis, addition of guide roller in track run.
Centurion Mk 5/1 - FV 4011. 20pdr (84 mm) gun, increased glacis armour, two coaxial machine guns: one .30 (7.62 mm) Browning & one .50 (12.7 mm) caliber Browning.
Centurion Mk 5/2 - 105 mm gun
Centurion Mk 5 AVRE "AVRE 165" (FV4003) - armed with a short barrelled L9A1 165 mm demolition gun (firing 60 lb (29 kg) high-explosive squash head (HESH) round), it entered service in 1963, replacing the Churchill AVRE. The vehicle front added a dozer blade to the front, and frequently towed the Giant Viper for mine clearance or other trailers for stores. Large turret bins provided stowage. Centurion AVRE were up-armoured for Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
