  • MiG-29A (Product 9.12) - Initial production version; entered service in 1983. NATO reporting name is "Fulcrum-A". 9.12A is the Initial production model version (radar, ECM and IFF) for Warsaw Pact.
  • while the 9.12B is the . 9.12A lacks a nuclear weapon delivery system and has initial production 
  • MiG-29A (Product 9.12B) - a downgraded export version for non-Warsaw Pact nations. No ECM and IFF.
  • MiG-29UB (Product 9.51) Twin seat training modelInfra-red sensor mounted only, no radar. NATO reporting code is "Fulcrum-B".
  • MiG-29S (Product 9.13) - NATO reporting code "Fulcrum-C", features flight control system improvements; has a dorsal hump, which led to its nickname "Fatback", limited ground-attack capability.
