Matsu was sunk 3 months after her completion in 1944.
The Matsu-class ships were built late in World War Two. They are lighter and smaller than previous Japanese destroyers. Anti-aircraft guns, anti-submarine weapons & radar were enhanced, However, Matsu's gun mounts were open rather than turreted.
