- Battle of Midway [4~7 June 1942] - Akagi was scuttled by IJN destroyers on 5 June 1942 after severely damaged by dive bombers from USS Enterprise, USS Hornet & USS Yorktown. Total 4 IJN carriers was lost during Battle of Midway.
