- Battle of Badung Strait [19 February 1942]
- Battle of Midway [4~6 June 1942] - Arashio(荒潮) & Asashio(朝潮) rescued 240 survivors from the heavy cruiser Mikuma(三隈), Arashio(荒潮) suffered a direct bomb hit, killing 37 crewmen, then escorted the crippled cruiser Mogami(最上) to Truk on 14 June. After emergency repairs by the repair ship Akashi(明石), Arashio(荒潮) returned to Sasebo Naval Arsenal by 23 July.
- "Tokyo Express" [mid-February 1943] - Arashio(荒潮) rescued the survivors of her torpedoed sister ship Ōshio(大潮) near Wewak on 20 February 1943.
- Battle of the Bismarck Sea [2~4 March 1943] - Arashio(荒潮) was damaged by three B-25C and collided with troopship Nojima Maru(野島 ).176 survivors was rescued by Yukikaze(雪風) And the abandoned Arashio(荒潮) was sunk by U.S. aircraft on 4 March 1943.[Asashio(朝潮) was also sunk on 3 March 1943]
