Sea Hurricane Mk IA - 250 modified Hurricane Mk.I to be carried by CAM ships (catapult-armed merchantman. These ships were equipped with a catapult for launching an aircraft, but without facilities to recover them). The first Sea Hurricane IA kill was an Fw 200C Condor, shot down on 2 Aug 1941.
Sea Hurricane Mk IB - 340 modified Hurricane Mk I with catapult spools plus an arrester hook. From July 1941, they operated on HMS Furious and merchant aircraft carrier (MAC) ships. The first Sea Hurricane IB (880 squadron from HMS Furious) kill was a Do 18 flying-boat. shot down on 31 Jul 1941.
Sea Hurricane Mk IIC - 60 Hurricane Mk IIC were built with catapult spools plus an arrester hook, naval radio gear & Merlin XX engine (Nov 1942~May 1943)
