Battle of Leyte Gulf (October 1944) - Nagato was lightly damaged and returned to Japan.
Nagato was converted into a floating anti-aircraft platform and assigned to coastal defense duties.
Nagato was sunk in mid-1946 after nuclear weapon tests during Operation Crossroads.
